Mad Dogs & Englishmen Honored as a Michelin Selected Restaurant

Mad Dogs & Englishmen Honored as a Michelin Selected Restaurant
Distinction Comes Less Than Three Months Since Opening

TAMPA, Fla. – (April 17, 2025) – Oxford Commons latest venture, the reimagined Mad Dogs & Englishmen, is thrilled to announce it was named a Michelin Selected Restaurant at the MICHELIN Guide Ceremony 2025 Florida, held today at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at the Walt Disney World Resort.

“To be added to the Guide just a month after opening, and now to receive this distinction before our three-month anniversary, is truly an honor,” said Executive Chef Jeff Clark. “It’s a great opportunity to show off our menu and a phenomenally prepared experience, from our ambience and service to our high-quality ingredients and presentation.”

The anonymous MICHELIN Guide inspectors previously named four new Tampa restaurants, including Mad Dogs, to its 2025 Michelin Guide. It’s the second restaurant for Oxford Commons to be honored by the Guide for its culinary excellence. The first, Mediterranean-inspired Predalina in Water Street, was added to the Guide in 2024 just eight months after opening.

The vaunted MICHELIN Guides seek to offer something for everyone in every price point, and the Michelin Selected designation recognizes those restaurants with a culinary style that not only warrants inclusion in the Guide, but that are also worth a visit by guests. The success of Mad Dogs and Predalina is a testament to the ever-growing culinary scene in Tampa.

Mad Dogs and Englishmen has been a fixture of Tampa’s restaurant scene for more than 30 years. From its inception, it sought to create more than just another restaurant, but an atmosphere for community and conversation punctuated by an eclectic mix of live music, a good pint, and traditional British fare. Its move to a thoughtfully designed space just down the street in January 2025 has allowed it to do more – from more inventive menu items and bar offerings to more programming and a more authentic English pub experience.

Guests will find multiple dining areas, dog friendly patios, and two bars. Traditional British staples like Fish ‘N Chips, Shepherd’s Pie and Bangers and Mash shine alongside more inventive menu items such as Stuffed Peppadews, Aubergine Bolognese, and Tuna Tartare. Sunday Roasts and weekend brunch round out the menu.

“This award would not be possible without the passion and dedication of Chef Jeff and his team,” said Oxford Commons Culinary Director Richard Anderson. “It’s because of their hard work that we are the place where the community wants to gather, and we are thrilled to have Michelin recognize their efforts to elevate Tampa’s food scene.”
